Novak Djokovic court case updates: Djokovic leaves Australia
Novak Djokovic's hopes of playing at the Australian Open were dashed Sunday after a court dismissed the top-ranked tennis star's appeal against a deportation order. Three Federal Court judges upheld a decision made on Friday by the immigration minister to cancel the 34-year-old Serb's visa on public interest grounds. The decision likely means that Djokovic, who is not vaccinated against COVID-19, will remain in detention in Melbourne until he is deported. A deportation order usually also includes a three-year ban on returning to Australia. Stay updated with Times of India to get all the live updates of Novak Djokovic visa row in Australia.

The Immigration minister will not take any step to remove Djokovic from Australia at this time. Immediate deportation anyway was going to be tricky, especially since Djokovic has appealed again in court.
Australia's decision to cancel Novak Djokovic's visa a second time could hamper the world number one's ability to travel freely to other countries and thwart his bid for a record 21st Grand Slam crown if he remains unvaccinated against Covid-19.
The government lawyer Stephen Lloyd says the Immigration Minister has proposed that Djokovic be detained at 8am on Saturday when he appears for his interview with immigration officials and taken to the offices of his lawyers and then taken back into detention at midday
