Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the U.S. Open final on Sunday, reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking and marking their third consecutive Grand Slam final matchup this season. The 2-hour, 42-minute match at Arthur Ashe Stadium showcased Alcaraz's dominance with twice as many winners as Sinner, extending his head-to-head lead to 10-5 over his Italian rival.

"I'm seeing you more than my family," Alcaraz joked during the trophy ceremony. "Jesus. I mean, it's great to share the court, share the locker rooms, to share everything with you.
"Watching you improve every day. Working really hard with your team, really great people around. "Congratulations for everything you are doing and great performance during the whole week." Alcaraz, the 22-year-old Spaniard, and Sinner, the 24-year-old Italian, made history as the first men to face each other in three straight Grand Slam finals in a single season.

"I give lots of credit to him, because he handled the situation better than I did," said Sinner, acknowledging his play was too predictable. "He raised his level when he had to."
"You were better than me," Sinner admitted. "I tried my best today. I couldn't do more."The match was played under a closed roof due to earlier rain, with Alcaraz displaying superior strength and speed throughout the contest.Alcaraz's coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, called the performance "perfect." Alcaraz agreed with this assessment, stating: "He's right. I think I played perfect. ... If I want to beat Jannik, I have to play perfect."This victory follows their previous encounters at Roland-Garros in June, where Alcaraz won after saving three match points, and at Wimbledon in July, where Sinner emerged victorious.
