Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia (also known as Nikki Bella among the wrestling community) have recently been in the headlines following Chigvintsev’s arrest on domestic violence charges. Gracia filed for divorce but the charges against the Dancing With the Stars dancer were recently dropped due to lack of significant evidence. After his release, Chigvintsev finally broke silence on the matter.

About a month ago on August 29, Artem Chigvintsev was arrested on charges of domestic violence, and nearly two years after their marriage, Nikki Gracia filed for divorce on September 11. While Chigvintsev has been mostly silent during this whole ordeal, he has recently addressed the situation after prosecutors declined to file charges against him.
"I am incredibly relieved and grateful that the domestic violence charges against me have been dropped," Chigvintsev said in a statement to E! News. "This has been an extremely difficult time for me. I am thankful that the truth has prevailed."
In another statement to People, Chigvintsev shared that he is now prioritizing his son Matteo, whom he shares with his estranged wife Nikki Garcia. "This has been an extremely difficult time for me,” he said in the statement. “I am thankful that the truth has prevailed,” he continued.
The 42-year-old went on to add, “My focus has always been and will always be, our son Matteo. He is my world, and being his father is the greatest blessing in my life. All along, my main concern has been for him. I am committed to continuing to provide him with the love, support, and care he needs as we move forward."
He further asserted that he is hoping for equal custody of their son, "I am hopeful that securing an equal custody arrangement will help us move on.” He added, “I look forward to moving past this chapter and focusing on what truly matters—continue being the best father I can be."
Chigvintsev's attorney, Ilona Antonyan also told the outlet that they have been negotiating shared custody of Matteo. "We can now focus on negotiating a shared 50/50 custody schedule. Fortunately, Artem has been able to spend time with Matteo almost every day since 8/29/2024 incident," she told People.
She further assured that her client “is fully committed to fostering a positive co-parenting relationship with his ex,” Garcia.
