B-Town Star Praised Rey Mysterio on Ranveer Allahbadia’s Show Before Ex-WWE star's Threat Rocked India's Got Latent

Rey Mysterio had earned the privilege of being a bonafide WWE Hall of Famer and is a Bollywood superstar’s pick for delivering the most exceptional matches in WWE, as he mentioned on Ranveer Illahabadia's show months before his India's Got Latent controversy that sparked a threat from an ex-WWE star.

Rey Mysterio can easily be called the pioneer of high-flying wrestling and becoming, perhaps, the most successful luchador in the history of professional wrestling. The Master of the 619 started his career on the mainstream scene in WCW back in the 1990s and came to WWE in 2002.

Mysterio had one of the most exceptional runs, achieving accolades that many believed a wrestler his size would not be able to do. But this never stopped Rey from working hard and impressing the WWE Universe every time. Moreover, his spectacular career has atleast made popular Bollywood star Varun Dhawan one of his biggest fans, as he mentioned on popular podcaster, Ranveer Allahabadia's show before he landed in hot water for his India's Got Latent controversy.

Varun Dhawan Picked Rey Mysterio for having the best matches in WWE

During the conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia, he showed Varun Dhawan a picture of Rey Mysterio and asked his opinion about him. This led to Varun picking him for delivering the best matches in the global juggernaut.

Varun applauded Mysterio’s work ethic and the matches he delivered alongside top stars like Brock Lesnar and Big Show, men twice as big as him. Moreover, he called him an incredible athlete and commended him for becoming a World Champion despite his size.

“By far the best matches, him and Brock [Lesnar] did some matches that tore it down, him and Big Show did some matches they tore it down in the ring. Talk about short kings, he is the best example, what an athlete. Who would have imagined that someone of this size would become a Heavyweight Champion.”

This interview came months before Ranveer Illahabadia's controversy, which was sparked by some outrageous comments that he passed on popular comedian Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. An arrest warrant has been issued against him, and he has recently sent a message on social media that he is willing to cooperate with the officials. Moreover, he also received a big threat from ex-WWE star, Saurav Gujjar for the remarks made.

As for Rey Mysterio, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2023. Despite that, he continues to perform weekly on the RAW brand as the leader of the LWO faction. Moreover, his legacy is also being carried forward by his son, Dominik Mysterio, who has achieved immense success as one of the most hated WWE superstars of all time. Mysterio has proven that he can still go up against the best superstars even after 20+ years inside the ring and is not looking to slow down anytime soon.
