NEW DELHI: Former WWE Superstar AJ Lee, known for her impactful career in the wrestling world, recently addressed the buzz surrounding her potential return to in-ring competition. The speculation gained momentum after AJ Lee shared a training video on social media, showcasing her skills in the ring alongside her husband, CM Punk.
With CM Punk's return to WWE in November, fans have been eagerly anticipating the possibility of AJ Lee making a comeback as well.The excitement escalated when fans suggested that she could enter the 2024 Royal Rumble match.
In response to the growing rumors, AJ Lee took to her Instagram Story to clarify her current status. She assured her fans that, despite the training video, she remains retired from in-ring competition. AJ wrote, “I bumped for @heelsstarz & @cmpunk and then went back into retirement.”
The training video, initially shared as part of a post about AJ's role on the TV show "Heels," quickly became a focal point for speculation within the wrestling community. While fans may have hoped for a return to the ring, AJ Lee's statement reaffirms her retirement from active competition.
AJ Lee's last wrestling match occurred on March 30, 2015, on WWE Raw, where she joined forces with Naomi and Paige to secure a victory. WWE officially announced her retirement from in-ring competition in April of the same year.
