NEW DELHI: With WWE's Royal Rumble approaching, Cody Rhodes is setting his sights on clinching the battle royal for the second consecutive year with aspirations of headlining WrestleMania 40.
While fans have been anticipating a rematch between Cody and Roman Reigns, The Rock's recent return at WWE RAW Day 1 has sparked speculation about a potential blockbuster clash between "The Tribal Chief" and "The Great One."
In a candid conversation with ESPN's Marc Raimondi, Cody Rhodes delved into his journey to WrestleMania, acknowledging the potential inclusion of The Rock in the mix.
"To be able to get back [to challenge for the title at WrestleMania], I've gotta win in one of those two settings—the Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber," Rhodes expressed. "And that's really where my focus is at. I can't see WrestleMania 40 until I see one of those."
Despite the buzz around The Rock's return and its potential impact on Cody's aspirations, the ambitious wrestler remains undeterred, stating, "I don't consider him in my way. Maybe he is, and I'm being naive to it. Maybe he wants to get in, I don't know. But I don't consider him in my way. Again, The Rock is one of the main reasons we're here today. Nothing but respect. But also at the same time, I have to have the respect for myself to know where I'd like to go."
