Former WWE Star Dave Bautista Announced as a Presenter Alongside Other Hollywood Big Shots for the Academy Awards 2025

The 97th Academy Awards are right around the corner, to be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles on March 2. The next batch of presenters for the 2025 Oscars night was just released, and actor and former WWE star Dave Bautista has been named as one alongside other Hollywood bigshots. Bautista was part of the Oscar-nominated movie Dune: Part Two and will be a presenter at the ceremony this year.

The Academy releases the names of the next batch of Oscar presenters

Earlier today, the Academy released a list of names who will be joining the Oscars this year as presenters. We already knew Joe Alwyn, Halle Berry, Sterling K. Brown, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Lily-Rose Depp, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Cillian Murphy, Connie Nielsen, Amy Poehler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, June Squibb, Ben Stiller, Emma Stone, Oprah Winfrey and Bowen Yang would be presenting this year.


Now the next batch includes former WWE star Dave Bautista and other stars like Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, Harrison Ford, Zoe Saldaña, Samuel L. Jackson, and Rachel Zegler. The show will be aired live in more than 200 countries, with an opening performance by Wicked co-stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The show is being hosted by comedian Conan O'Brian this year.

Dave Bautista urges fans to help with Gears of War movie

The newly named Oscar presenter has been making a name for himself in the world of acting, deemed by many as the best wrestling talent to have joined Hollywood. And he is ready to star in Netflix's Gears of War movie, even if Netflix hasn't formally announced any cast list yet. But looks like Bautista doesn't like the waiting game, and is ready to take matters into his own hands.

"Start an online thing about freaking Gears of War. Come on, Netflix. Come on already. It’s not like I’m not badgering them. Come on, Netflix. Get it together."


Dave Bautista is urging fans to start a campaign and get him cast in the Gears of War movie by Netflix. He is a popular choice among fans to play the role of the protagonist, Marcus Fenix, of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Even the creator of the game, on which the movie is being based, Cliff Bleszinski, also wants The Animal to play the lead protagonist. Let's See if Netflix listens to everyone's pleas on this one.
