Despite Gunther's assertion last year that Sheamus was not entirely "focused" on his goals, recent developments suggest that the former WWE Champion is determined to pursue the one title that has eluded him throughout his illustrious career.
In a recent series of jabs and provocations aimed at The Ring General, Sheamus hinted at the possibility of reigniting their classic feud from 2022. The Irish powerhouse has been vocal about his desire to claim the Intercontinental Championship, and it appears he is ready to make a statement upon his return to the ring.
However, Gunther, in response to Sheamus' overtures, shared his thoughts on the matter during an appearance on the Battleground Podcast. The Austrian acknowledged that he is prepared for a showdown with The Celtic Warrior but expressed a preference for Sheamus to remain at a distance.
“I’m definitely ready, but where he is right now, that’s where I like him the most — away. It’s a good place where he is, but we’ll see what happens,” Gunther remarked, leaving the door open for a potential clash while subtly indicating that he may not actively seek out a confrontation.
