NEW DELHI: In a recent revelation on Cafe de Rene, WWE superstars Mace and Mansoor disclosed their ambitious plans to bring back Canadian wrestling legend Rick Martel to the company. Unfortunately, the duo's efforts were derailed by unforeseen circumstances, particularly the retirement of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Rick Martel, 67, is a seasoned wrestling veteran with two stints in WWE, during which he achieved notable success. The Canadian star held the WWE Tag Team Championship three times, forming impactful partnerships with Tony Garea and Tito Santana.

Despite his last in-ring appearance in 1995 during the Royal Rumble match, Martel remains a beloved figure in the wrestling community.

Mansoor and Mace, recognizing the potential impact of Martel's return, shared details of their attempt to bring him back to WWE.

"We tried to get a hold of him. We wanted him to come to a show. We were like trying to get him for Survivor Series or something," Mansoor revealed.

Mace added, "When things were really good and we felt like we could actually get stuff, we were like, 'Absolutely.' We're like, 'For sure, let's get Rick Martel. Like, if we can find him, let's get him and get him on' because that would be huge for us and him, I'm sure. But stuff stopped happening for us, so...,"

The Saudi star emphasized the impact of Vince McMahon's retirement on their plans, indicating a change in their status within the company.

"I mean once Vince retired, it was like the writing was clearly on the wall. Like, we were probably not gonna be treated well. Not treated well per se but anything special that anybody was gonna get, we were not a priority, that's for sure."
