Roman Reigns - Leukemia
Roman Reigns was first diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) at the young age of 22. Then in 2018, he announced during a Monday Night RAW episode, that the cancer had returned, and he was taking time away from the ring. Miraculously, only four months later, Reigns made his return to the WWE, declaring that his leukemia was in remission.
Bret "The Hitman" Hart - Prostate and Skin cancer
Bret "The Hitman" Hart has battled cancer twice. In 2016, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, but successfully underwent surgery. Then again in 2020, he announced that he was fighting skin cancer. Since then, Hart has successfully managed to beat both diagnoses and is still a prominent figure in the wrestling community. Recently, he also revealed that his daughter Jade has also beat cancer after a long and arduous battle.
Michelle McCool - Skin cancer
Michelle McCool was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2016. After receiving successful treatment, she used her experience to advocate for sun safety and regular skin checks. She later revealed that early detection was key to her successful recovery. Over the years, McCool has made rare WWE appearances, and was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Alexa Bliss - Skin cancer
Alexa Bliss was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2023, and shared her story publicly to thank her doctors. She often encourages fans to get their skin checked, raising awareness for the importance of early detection. Bliss managed to return to her career in the WWE after a successful procedure to remove the cancerous spots.
John Cena - Skin cancer
John Cena has dealt with skin cancer scares on two separate occasions. According to the Cenation Leader, years of neglecting sunscreen led to cancerous spots being found and removed. Since then, Cena has used his platform to advocate for safety, promoting the use of sunscreen, and encouraging fans to get regular skin checkups.
