The Janel Grant lawsuit aside, Vince McMohan might be looking at yet another lawsuit that could cost him and his former company a whopping $500 Million. This lawsuit was filed by Leland Owens who claims that the Stamford-based promotion used his creative ideas without compensating him adequately for it.

The complainant further states that he had no written documentation in place for the agreement and everything was agreed upon verbally. However, the company and its agents didn’t live up to their end of the bargain.

Will Vince McMohan face repercussions for the new lawsuit?

Considering that Vince McMohan isn’t in charge of WWE now, he might not have to face the majority of the brunt. However, if the claims made by Leland Owens are held up in court then WWE might have to look into how they handle creative content and ideas that they receive from independent contractors and how they choose to compensate for it.

That said, this is the second time that such a lawsuit is being filed. Prior to this lawsuit, Owens had filed another lawsuit of the same nature against the company and Vince McMohan. However, that didn’t hold up in court because the claims weren’t detailed enough.

This time around however, the claims are extremely detailed, and the complainant has named a few former WWE wrestlers including Daniel Bryan (currently known as Bryan Danielson) and Sasha Banks (currently known as Mercedes Mone), and Stephanie McMohan, who were involved and represented the Stamford-based promotion when the deal was done. Sasha Banks in particular, was involved when the company offered Owens some hush money to stay silent about the entire deal.

That said, the company and its legal team are yet to respond to these allegations, nor has the court given any ruling yet. However, once the ruling does come out, it’ll be interesting to see how the company responds to that. With that said, it’s also worth noting that, if the case does hold in court, and the ruling is against the Stamford-based promotion, then WWE will in all likelihood, document all agreements, especially the ones made with independent contractors.
