Dany Garcia’s Early Life

Dany Garcia was born to a Cuban family in New Jersey. Growing up, her family did not have a lot of wealth and this gave her an extra push to become an entrepreneur.

According to an interview with Foundr, Dany spoke about how she wanted to be an entrepreneur from a very young age. She said, “We talk about entrepreneurs being born. Well, I think many of them were probably like me, very angsty in their young age and sort of looking at the world differently and not understanding why things happen the way they happen.”

Dany and Dwayne crossed paths at the prestigious University of Miami and they began dating soon after. In 1992, Dany graduated from college with a degree in International Finance and Marketing and was all ready to start working at Merill Lynch. Soon after she used her vast knowledge in finance and started her own wealth management firm.

However, things changed in 2008 when Dwayne was trying to break into the entertainment industry and asked Dany to become his manager. At the time, the two had separated and their divorce was finalised in May 2008.


While Dany helped Dwayne to break through into the entertainment industry, they also partnered to create the Seven Bucks Productions in 2012. Seven Bucks Productions, Seven Bucks Creative and Seven Bucks Digital Studios have been producing Dwayne’s movies, shows and movies for TV and other OTT platforms.

Some of the famous content that has been produced by the Seven Bucks Production house includes Shazam!, Red Notice, Black Adam, Jumanji series, Stuntman and more.

Dany is also the founder of The Garcia Companies which looks after a number of brands in different sectors such as food, entertainment, and business. Some of the notable brands include ZOA Energy, Acorns, Athleticon, TGC Management and more.

Dany and Dwayne also partnered up to co-own XFL, which has now merged with UFSL to form the United Football League.
