WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle says biopic will have a 'Rocky'-Like feel

From overcoming a broken neck to winning an Olympic gold medal and becoming one of WWE's most technically gifted wrestlers, Kurt Angle's legendary journey is one deserving of a movie. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has revealed that two biopics about his life are currently in the works.

During a conversation with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard, Angle mentioned that his biopic will have a ‘Rocky'-Like feel to it and went on to reveal more details about the project. Let’s take a look:

“My movie is going to be about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh that overcomes adversities, including a broken neck, and ends up winning an Olympic gold medal. It’s only about my Olympic history, it’s my Olympic story. It’s going to have a Rocky-type of feel to it, with a touch of The Fighter and Iron Claw.”


Angle’s first biopic will talk about his Olympics journey and how he managed to win a gold medal despite having a broken neck. On the other hand, his second biopic will shed light on his WWE journey. Kurt revealed that there was way too much content for the directors to cram it all into one movie.

As things stand, the script to Angle’s biopics is almost finished and that the next step will be to look for investors. Once that is out of the way, Kurt and his team will be focusing on casting actors, and he already has a few names in mind, but didn’t want to ruin any surprises. Though, Kurt did reveal that he will be going for a lot of big names, which should get the fans riled up for his movies.

Kurt Angle’s WWE career has always felt a little underwhelming because he had the potential to be one of the greatest to ever do it. Hopefully, once we get to see the journey through his eyes, his premature retirement will make more sense.
