On the "
Off the Top" podcast,
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, who is Jey's father, shared his thoughts about this significant chance for his son. Recognized for his frank assessments of his son's career, Rikishi has previously criticized WWE for how it handled Jey's programming, feeling that the organization hasn't made the most of his star power.
“Let’s get a round of applause on that one. I hope they do the right thing, I guess. When I voice my opinion, damn, boy, my forehead starts sweating. I can feel all the heat coming my way," Rikishi said.
Speaking as a proud father, he continued,
"I’m just speaking as a father, though. Tell me any other father would not be speaking up for their son or their daughter. So let’s see what happens. We’ll see what can possibly happen.”Also read:

"Or it might be an outside interference, or I don’t know, it could be another Bloodline member."While he is hopeful about the direction things are heading, Rikishi also emphasized that there are multiple directions WWE could take with Jey Uso’s storyline. He concluded by saying,
"There’s so many ways we can go with this. This is just my humble opinion,” leaving fans eager to see what might unfold next.
