Seth Rollins has been taking quite a bit of damage over the past few weeks. First, he was the special guest referee for Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk at SummerSlam 2024. During the match, Rollins got into a verbal spat with Punk, which ended with Rollins eating a GTS. Rollins then returned to RAW on Monday and got into a fight with Bronson Reed.
Rollings was caught off guard and lost the physical battle against Reed. Then the 330-pound man went on to deliver six Tsunami splashes on a defenseless Rollins. This assault ended with Seth coughing blood and being rushed to the hospital. While at first this seemed like a malicious attack by Reed, WWE insider Dave Meltzer has revealed the real reason behind the attack.
Here’s what he had to say about the situation:
“Remember on Monday we were talking about Seth and Dakota? It was done for injury reasons. I don’t know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries, and I was told they both were”Seth Rollins is being rested due to injury struggles
While there’s nothing major to worry about, Rollins’ body has been through some wear and tear over the last few months. To make sure the situation doesn’t get worse, he’s being given time off. Dave Meltzer added that this is a good time for Rollins to take a rest because he’s pretty banged up.
Sending a weary Rollins off with six Tsunami splashes from Reed seems a little extra, but Seth will get to have his say when he comes back. Currently, it is not known whether Seth Rollins will be back to face Bronson Reed at the Bash in Berlin PLE. Randy Orton vs. Gunther is one of the match cards for that PLE, and having Seth Rollins there would surely be nice.
Yet again, Rollins has had to take time off due to an injury. He had a torn meniscus after WrestleMania 40 and did not return until late in June while he nursed that back to health. At least we won’t have to deal with such an extended absence this time around. We also have to talk about Bronson Reed’s attack, which was quite a statement by the big man.
It might have been an injury cover, but his assault was brutal. If Bronson can show that kind of energy in a match against Rollins, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say he could come out as the victor. Reed has had a difficult year and wasn’t able to make it to either the Elimination Chamber PLE or WrestleMania. Thanks to his rivalry with Seth, he now has a shot at returning to the big stage.
Now that he has started down this path of brutality, Bronson Reed cannot look back. It would be best for him to stick to his guns and use his immense physicality to crush the competition. Hopefully, we’ll get to see Rollins take on Reed at the Bash in Berlin PLE.
