ACSG develops software to boost ‘good governance’
Pankaj Kumar, President, ACSG Corp., a homeland and e-governance software security company, talks at length about the firm’s recent listing in the ‘Good Governance’ section of CII‘s Directory of Products & Services for Smart Cities.
Let’s talk about the credentials first. Why has ACSG Corp. been listed under ‘Good Governance’?
Although ACSG Corp. is an established software security company, its extensive solutions have contributed heavily towards India’s E-governance drive. The company has been serving various state police bodies, multiple Government entities, and other law enforcement bodies. Recently, it came up with technologically advanced solutions like the ‘Lost and Missing Articles’ report and Found web-app, Character Verification Report app, No-entry permission (NEP) web-app, malware guard, web-app for online filing of complaints and E-book for martyrs, among several others.
Our objectives of making routine affairs simpler for the general public and much less tedious for the Government officials are in sync with the goal of ‘Good Governance’. ACSG Corp.’s ‘Lost Report’ application developed for the Delhi Police has been honored with the national award for E-Governance for the year 2015-16 conferred at the 19th National E-Governance Conference held in Nagpur.
How significant is E-governance in the Indian context today?
E-Governance is pertinent in both the global as well as Indian context. A digital world needs to ensure a systematically organized and simplified process, for all Government services made available to the public via digital means, thus minimizing the laborious paperwork. Also, Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Digital India’ drive is a critical step towards promoting ‘E-governance’ in the country. There are several Government as well as private entities like us who are doing their bit in improving India’s e-governance landscape. This highlights the progressive endeavours of developing nations like ours in their quest for ‘good governance’.

How is ACSG different from the others operating in the same domain?
At ACSG, we believe in Joint Theater Command Approach, or JTC, rather than the traditional approach of “client services and satisfaction” that is followed by most others.
JTC is command by a single commander for all stake holders, unlike in the armed forces, for instance, where stake holders like the Army, Navy and Air force are separate entities governed by their own commanders.
It means that we take up client projects as independent modules and use the JTC system to cater to them, which means it’s all under a single control system. This approach facilitates flexibility, experimentation, adaptation and modernization at a much higher rate. This means very little scope for lapse in judgment and execution since it’s all under a single roof.
What is ACSG Corp.’s vision for India in the decades to come?
We envision a technologically alert as well as completely security-sound future for the nation as well as across the globe. We aim to serve with the simplest technology, which is a complex thing to achieve, that even an adolescent could understand and use effortlessly, thereby making it all-inclusive. In not too distant a future, common man would be in a position to tackle all Government-related issues and services without having to waste time and money; Internet will make life convenient.
