Samsung Electronics has announced a major expansion of its Galaxy AI platform, adding support for two new languages—Gujarati and Filipino—bringing the total to 22. The update began rolling out on October 29 and marks a significant step in Samsung’s mission to democratize mobile AI and enhance communication across linguistic borders.
The newly added languages were developed in close collaboration with Samsung Research centers in India and Indonesia, reflecting the company’s commitment to regional inclusivity and deep linguistic understanding.
“The addition of Gujarati to Galaxy AI is a significant milestone in our mission to democratize AI in India,” said Giridhar Jakki, Senior Director at Samsung R&D Institute India, Bengaluru. “We are enabling native speakers to seamlessly use popular Galaxy AI features such as Call Assist and Interpreter.”
Smarter communication and productivity
Galaxy AI’s suite of features is designed to make everyday tasks more intuitive:
ul1- li1Live Translate enables real-time, two-way voice and text translations during calls.
- li1Interpreter offers instant in-person translation via split-screen view—ideal for travel and local interactions.
- li1Chat Assist refines messages to match tone and intent, whether professional or casual.
- li1Note Assist generates summaries and templates to streamline organization.
- li1Transcript Assist transcribes and translates voice recordings from meetings or lectures.
- li1Browsing Assist condenses news articles and webpages into digestible summaries.
These tools are powered by Samsung’s advanced on-device AI, ensuring privacy and responsiveness while adapting to local communication styles.
Rapid global adoption
Galaxy AI has quickly become a staple for millions of users. At the Galaxy AI Forum earlier this year, Samsung revealed that over 70% of Galaxy S25 users actively engage with Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features. In India, that number climbs to an impressive 91%.
Since its debut with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy AI has expanded to over 200 million devices and is projected to reach 400 million by the end of 2025.
The new language packs are available for download via the Settings app. With this update, Samsung continues to lead the charge in making mobile AI more accessible, personalized, and impactful across the globe.
