Indian mobile phone consumers from today have access to a new technology that till now was being used in countries like the US, UK and Singapore. Bharti Airtel has introduced 5G slicing technology to its post paid users, which will offer stable connectivity even in areas of network congestion, for example in a cricket field or a heavy traffic area. That is because 5G slicing allows a telco to use its spectrum resources more efficiently, thereby increasing capacity on the network. That additional capacity will now be used to offer a superior experience to Airtel’s postpaid users.Shashwat Sharma, MD and CEO, Airtel India, said: “Priority Postpaid is our latest innovation powered by 5G slicing technology. It provides a superior, more reliable, and dependable experience to our customers — whether they are attending a client call in traffic, streaming at a packed concert, or booking a cab in a crowded market.”
