Block Pornhub in America, it is 'our secret ...': Canadians to their government as US-Canada trade tensions rise after Donald Trump Tariffs

Amid escalating trade tensions between the United States and Canada, some Canadians are calling on their government to strike back by blocking American access to Pornhub, a popular adult content website owned by Canadian company Aylo.

The unusual proposal gained traction after Toronto resident Matthew Puzhitsky posted a viral video on Instagram describing the potential ban as Canada's "secret nuke" and a "mic drop moment" in the ongoing trade dispute. Puzhitsky told The New York Post, "If Canada could ban Pornhub in the states, we win the trade war. That's it. There is no trade war."




According to Pornhub's own statistics, nearly 40 percent of the site's traffic comes from the United States, making it a significant potential pressure point in the cross-border economic conflict.

The calls for digital retaliation come as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has taken a confrontational stance toward US President Donald Trump's tariff policies. "Donald Trump has put unjustified tariffs on what we build, on what we sell, on how we make a living," Carney said in a recent speech. "He's attacking Canadian workers, families and businesses."

A petition urging the Canadian government to restrict Pornhub access in the US has been published online, though it has gathered only 52 signatures so far. The petition argues that blocking the site would represent "a new approach" to the tariff dispute.

The suggestion comes as 16 US states, including Texas, Florida, and Virginia, have already lost access to Pornhub due to strict age-verification laws requiring government-issued identification. Pornhub's parent company has chosen to block these states rather than comply with what it considers privacy-compromising regulations.
