TRUTHThe video is from China and over two years old. A traffic signal was seen floating in a rainwater-filled road.
VERIFICATION AND METHODOLOGYOn closely observing the video, we saw something written in a Chinese language on a scooter. Taking cue from this, we used relevant keywords and found a video uploaded to the
YouTube channel of China Global Television Network (CGTN) on May 11, 2018.
Titled ‘Dramatic moment: 'Walking' traffic light gets swept down the flooded street in China’,. The video had the same visuals as the one shared in the claim above.
“The video, which was filmed in Yulin City of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, shows a temporary traffic light being swept down a street by flood waters. Heavy downpours have affected more than 70,000 people in 15 counties”, reads the description given to the video.
VERDICTTimes Fact Check has found that a video from China, showing a floating traffic signal, is being shared with a false claim that it is from Hyderabad.
