FAKE ALERT: Old photos of Sana Khan viral as ‘nude pics’ posted by her husband

A photo collage of former Indian actress Sana Khan, who recently left showbiz for

Islam

, is going viral with the claim that her

steamy

,

nude

pictures were posted on social media by her Muslim cleric husband. It is being claimed that these photos were clicked during their honeymoon.


“How can a husband share nude photos of her wife from their honeymoon,” read a tweet carrying that photo collage.

Another Facebook user shared the photo collage and claimed that such nude photos of Sana can endanger her religion.

TRUTH
Two of the three images in the photo collage are old and not from Sana’s honeymoon.

VERIFICATION AND METHODOLOGYOn closely observing the photo collage, we found that it carried the logo of news website ‘ABP News’. It appeared as if the photo collage was a screengrab of a Hindi news report by ABP News.

Taking a cue from this and using relevant Hindi keywords, we looked up on Google search and found the ABP News report in question. It was published on December 14, 2020 and carried the same photo collage.

Cropping the three different pictures in the collage, we ran a reverse-image search on each one of them.

This image is from the Hindi film ‘Wajah Tum Ho’. The search led us to the title song of the movie uploaded on the official YouTube channel of T-Series on October 19, 2016.


At 2:16 in the video, one can see the same visual.

The second picture was traced to a blog, where more pictures from a photoshoot done by Sana were posted on October 18, 2017. It can be viewed here.

Image 3This is indeed from Sana’s honeymoon and was posted by her on her Instagram account on December 11, 2017.




It appears that ABP News used the photo collage as ‘representational image’ as is the practice normally followed by media outlets. However, the collage was posted by social media users with false claims.

Times Fact Check has found that old photos of Sana Khan are being shared to falsely claim that her husband posted her ‘nude images’.
