. It is being claimed that 20,000 Nihang Sikhs are arriving in Delhi with 2000 horses.
Among those sharing this video is an influential
Congress supporting Twitter handle @SanjayV_INC
TRUTHThe video is from 2018 when a procession was taken out on the occasion of Delhi Fateh Diwas. It has nothing to do with ongoing protests in Delhi.
VERIFICATION AND METHODOLOGYUsing Google Chrome’s InVID extension, we broke the video into keyframes and then ran reverse-image search on them.
It led us to a YouTube video titled ‘Delhi Fateh Divas 2018 Budha Dal Nihang Singh’, published on July 2, 2020. The video had the same visuals as the one in the claim above.
We also found a slightly longer version of the video uploaded on October 1, 2020 by the same channel. This video is titled as ‘Nihang Singhan Valo Delhi Lal Qile Te Chadai | Delhi Fateh Divas Mahalla 2018 | Kisaana de Hakk’.
Taking a cue from the information above, we performed keyword searching across social media platforms and found a video uploaded with the same visuals on September 30, 2018. The text accompanying this video carries hashtags such as #DelhiFatehDivas2018.
