The US FDA has approved lenacapavir, the first twice-yearly injection for HIV prevention, which provides near-complete protection. However, its cost — ₹24 lakh per shot — may make it inaccessible in India



A new drug promising 99.9% protection against HIV received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) a few days ago, but Mumbai’s HIV rights activists are sceptical about its practical impact in India.
