Vedam was arrested over four decades ago for the murder of a friend and was finally exonerated after 40 years in prison. But he now faces another uphill battle against deportation.
In 1982, Subramanyam Vedam was arrested in Pennsylvania, US for the murder of a friend. He spent over 40 years in jail before the conviction was overturned in August this year.
In October, he was to return home with his sister, but instead was taken into custody over a 1999 deportation order.
