Rajasthan's Jaisalmer desert is now home to Asia's largest artificial water reservoir, a massive 28km lake built for ₹242 crore. This project, under the Jal jeevan Mission, promises year-round drinking water for Jaisalmer and Barmer districts, storing 141 crore litres. The innovative design includes a special plastic lining to prevent seepage and even accommodates Indian Army training exercises.
