Another easy trip to make, it takes less than an hour to reach Fontainebleau, a commune located in Paris. This one isn’t as famous as Versailles so you’ll have a little less crowd here, but nonetheless beautiful. The castle here is massive and the huge front lawn is fantastic to walk around and take photos from afar. Visitors can also go to the enchanting Forest of Fontainebleau, where you can take hikes if you have enough time, or hire a bike. This was François I’s hunting lodge, and artists such as Millet, Corot and Thomas Rousseau have painted at this very spot.
