Himachal Pradesh will be organising a two-day Apple Fest from September 27 to 28 this year. Shimla Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap informed that the state is planning to host this festival to promote tourism in this region, and has full support from the district administration. Read less
The Tourism Department will be organising this fest in collaboration with other departments to create a brand for Himachal apples at the international level. As per the reports, the Deputy Commissioner said that this fest will be organised at Gaiety Theatre’s Gothic Hall and the newly-constructed Multipurpose Hall.
Also, the state government signed around 92 MoUs (memorandum of understanding), of which 63 MoUs are for tourism sector with an investment of INR 1500 crore. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur mentioned this in a mini conclave, which also saw active participation by entrepreneurs of Himachal Pradesh and other states. The CM also stated that roadshows were conducted in the Netherlands, Germany, and UAE; whereas in India, the same were held in Hyderabad, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chandigarh to attract investments.
