Jodhpur has now become the cleanest railway station of India, making it to the top for the second time in a row. As a double whammy for Rajasthan, Jaipur also made it to the list as the second cleanest railway station of the North-Western Railway (NWR) in India. These titles were recently bestowed by the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation to honour the cleanest railway stations and other such public places in India.
On the other hand, Jaipur railway station authorities have also toiled enough to ensure that cleanliness standards are not compromised. NWR CPRO Abhay Sharma told the press that 240 sanitation staff members worked in three shifts and heavy-duty machines are also being employed for the purpose of cleaning. At the railhead, one workman takes care of a specific area for cleanliness.
We hope more such railway stations in India follow suit to make train travel as pleasant as air travel.
