According to the latest news reports, passengers travelling in Mail and Express trains can ask for veg biryani, egg biryani or chicken biryani from the catering staff. The price of veg biryani will be INR 80 (inclusive of GST) and the cost of egg as well as chicken biryani will be INR 90 and INR 110 respectively. Read less
The Ministry of Railways, in its new circular, has announced that biryani will be served as a meal in trains, henceforth, keeping in view its popularity.
According to the latest news reports, passengers travelling in Mail and Express trains can ask for veg biryani, egg biryani or chicken biryani from the catering staff. The price of veg biryani will be INR 80 (inclusive of GST) and the cost of egg as well as chicken biryani will be INR 90 and INR 110 respectively.
IRCTC will continue to serve Janta Meal, which features seven pooris and dry potatoes. As per the notification, chicken curry as an option in standard non-vegetarian meals in Mail and Express trains will also be served. However, except snacks like samosa etc. no a-la-carte meals shall be sold in Mail/Express trains.
