The beach at Chorwad, around 20 kms from Somnath, is one of the major attractions of Gujarat. Known for its magnificent palaces and architectural beauties, this place is ideal for a short haul vacation and offers some perfect picnic spots. Chorwad beach is popular with Indian and foreign travellers alike due to its scenic spots and clear blue waters. The beach is also home to the famous Chorwad Palace built by the Nawab of Junagarh. This palace-resort offers rooms to suit every budget right from the luxury to the economical. If you enjoy boat rides on calm waters, leisurely walks on the beach, sun-bathing and fishing, this is the place for you. When in Chorwad, try and visit the residence of Mahatma Gandhi. Called Kirti Mandir, this has been turned into a museum now. Chorwad is a very small town and the best way to reach this place by booking a cab either from Veraval or Somnath.
