The beautiful Eiffel Tower is probably going to be even more attractive now, as the Paris City Hall has unveiled plans to create a garden that will surround the monument. This makeover is going to result in the city’s largest garden, and will replace the chaos that currently surrounds it. The project should be completed by 2024, just around the time when the Paris Olympics will start.
According to the new plan, the Seine bridge, Pont d’ Iéna will be car free. This means that only public transport, and emergency vehicles would be allowed to enter this area, while new lanes will be created for walking and cycling. The renovation will result in a 1.6 km long green space around the Eiffel Tower. The tower will then be in the centre of a line, which will connect other important structures in Paris, such as the Place du Trocadero, Palais de Chaillot, Parc du Champ de Mars, Ecole Militaire, and Point d’ Iéna.
A lot of other changes will also be seen in this area, making it more public-friendly; travellers would surely be delighted with these upgrades.
Visitors will be pleased to see more trees and fountains all around the area, and this will also give ample space for shade for weary travellers. Also, there would be more ticket offices, kiosks, luggage storage places, and more.
