Monkey Point, also known as Manki Point, is a popular tourist point in Kasauli. It is also the highest point of the town of Kasauli from where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings. From here, tourists can also get a glimpse of Chandigarh region along with a little bit of Sutlej River flowing through the steep valleys and snow-capped peak of Choor Chandni. Another significant feature of this place is the ancient Hanuman temple, dedicated to the monkey god of the Hindus. The place is named after this temple has an interesting association with a famous Hindu mythological story. If legends are to be believed, Lord Hanuman had set foot here while returning with Sanjeevani booti from the mighty Himalayas. In fact, the hilltop also is shaped like a foot which is believed to be the footmarks of the lord. Come here, visit the temple and soak in the beauty of nature!
