This beautiful resort is perfect for a weekend getaway, located about 300 acres just outside the village, and offers luxury suites, guestrooms, and an on-site restaurants. It almost looks as if it has been plucked from a fairy tale with its drawbridges over the streams and fluffy white inviting snow in the winter. Outside of the resort, the island offers something for everyone, and if you like the outdoors you are in luck. There is plenty of wildlife and bird watching that can be done, as well as lots of hiking. It boasts incredible fishing as well as a world class golf course, and even a historic Icelandic village. If you choose to stay somewhere else on the island, rest assured there is plenty of choice for campground, cabins to rent, and lots of bed and breakfasts. One thing is for sure when you visit this island for a weekend, you certainly won’t want to go home back to reality.
