Manali received 7 cm of fresh snow, which is highest recorded in this season. Also, Solang and Kothi regions have been draped in 30 cm of snow. As per reports, Rohtang Pass, which usually remains inaccessible these days, will likely receive more than 60 cm snow. Other areas that received snow—Kalpa and Kinnaur received 10 cm snow; Koksar received 45 cm, while Keylong in Lahaul received 15 cm snow. In fact, various regions of Kinnaur, Chamba, and Lahaul-Spiti experienced this change in weather, i.e., received snowfall on Monday morning, just a day before Maha Shivratri.
Popular tourist destinations like Manali and Shimla continued to receive snowfall even on Tuesday. However, the lower parts of Himachal Pradesh experienced rainfall, thereby, bringing down the temperature. Further, tourist spots near Shimla like Narkanda, Kufri and Fagu also enjoyed snowfall and these regions looked even more picturesque draped in snow.

As word spread about the snowfall in these regions, tourists started flocking in Shimla and other nearby regions like Kufri, Narkanda, and Mashobra.
In terms of snowfall record in these regions, Shimla received the second snowfall, and Manali received third snowfall of the season.
