Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has released a report that says Indian tourists are on top of the list for their inbound tourism. Between January and September, Dubai witnessed 1,478,000 Indian tourists arriving in the city. This has contributed to a 20 percent rise in tourist arrivals in Dubai in comparison to January–September 2016.

Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Tourism, said in a statement, "The sustained growth ahead of the global average that we have witnessed so far this year is indicative of the positive impact yielded by our consolidated strategy across regulatory measures, promotional efforts, trade initiatives and partner programmes. Even as we continually work to ensure Dubai's proposition remains stellar and globally competitive, drawing on the concerted cross-industry efforts of all stakeholders, our priority remains the delivery of the highest levels of visitor satisfaction.”
He also said that Dubai Tourism would ultimately aim to transform tourists coming to Dubai into lifelong customers. They are always striving to introduce destination Dubai to newer customers, and by 2020, they are aiming for 20 million tourists.
