Indian Railways introduced country’s first air conditioned (AC) suburban local train on the day of Christmas which is no less than a blessing for the residents. Flagging off ceremony of the train was done by State Education Minister Vinod Tawde, and Borivali station was chosen for its first journey to Churchgate.

There will be six return services this week operating on all weekdays at regular intervals. The weekends have been reserved for maintenance purposes.
The WR chief public relations officer Ravinder Bhakar said, "This is being done till Friday. The AC train will run on regular basis between Churchgate and Virar stations, with total 12 services including those in peak hours, from January 1."
