About the place
From the 14th to 18th century, the city served as the capital of the Malla Kingdom and it flourished under the Malla rulers. The Mallas were known for their love for art and architecture and it’s their legacy that can still be seen today in the palaces and temples here.
Architectural attractions
You’ll be amazed to see the work of craftsmen from the bygone era once you enter the Krishna Mandir. It is one of the most prominent architectural wonders in the city, with gilded pinnacles and stone carvings.
The Patan Museum here is another gem of a place. The place is noted for its collection of religious artefacts, sculptures and artworks. Besides, the Golden Temple, Rudra Varna Mahavihar, and Bhimsen Temple, are some of the other prominent architectural attractions in the city.
