About the place

Patan is a historically rich city with its origins dating back to the third century BC. Lalitpur or Patan is also among the three royal Nepalese cities, along with Kathmandu and Bhaktapur.
From the 14th to 18th century, the city served as the capital of the Malla Kingdom and it flourished under the Malla rulers. The Mallas were known for their love for art and architecture and it’s their legacy that can still be seen today in the palaces and temples here.

The city is home to some spectacular architectural wonders in the world. Situated in the heart of Patan, Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The square is all about carved wooden palaces, pagoda-style temples, and ancient courtyards.
