Jaipur Zoo, located close to the Albert Hall Museum, is home to about 50 species of animals and birds, including Bengal tiger, Indian civet, Himalayan bear, barking deer, peacock, painted stork, goose and crocodile, among others. Opened in the year 1877, the zoo is divided into two sections, one for birds and reptiles, and another for mammals. Later, a museum was also built inside the zoo premises displaying the wildlife of the state of Rajasthan.
