Kalibangan, Rajasthan

Kalibangan is place popular for the fact that the relics from the Indus Valley Civilization were discovered here. The relics date back to the Harappan and pre-Harappan settlements (2500 B.C). Kalibangan was a primary provincial capital of the Indus Valley Civilization.
Kalibangan excavations have unearthed Harappan seals, unknown scripts, stamps, human skeletons, copper bangles, coins, beads, toys, terracotta and shells. Kalibangan is also worth visiting for the Archaeological Museum, which was established in 1983 to conserve discovered objects from an excavation conducted on the Harappan site during 1961-1969. The museum is divided into three galleries–the pre-Harappan one, and the two devoted to Harappan artefacts.

Kalibangan is located between Suratgarh and Hanumangarh in Hanumangarh District, and about 205 km from Bikaner city in Rajasthan.
