Kanatal is a beautiful little hamlet on the Chamba-Mussoorie highway nearly 300 km from Delhi. It is located at an altitude of over 8000 ft above sea level. If you are looking to spend 2-3 days relaxing in the lap of nature, this is the place to be. Take a walk or go for jeep safari in Kodia Jungle. It’s a levelled walk through the jungle. Forest suddenly opens up into a vast expanse of high hills and vast valleys, and tiny, gurgling natural springs come along the way. If you are lucky you can spot barking deer, wild boar, gorals and deer besides a wide variety of Himalayan birds. It’s an ideal place for picnic in the lap of nature. You can also go for a short trek to Surkunda Devi Temple (10,000 ft above sea level), which starts from Kaddukhal village. It’s worth the effort to enjoy panoramic view of the snow-clad ranges that we get from the top. Dhanaulti, Mussoorie and Chamba are all just a few kilometres away from here. There are some good camping sites also in and around Kanatal.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
