Katyayani Shaktipeeth, Vrindavan

Thousands of years ago, Radha and the Gopis of Vrindavan, had worshipped goddess Katyayani, at a garden located on the banks of Yamuna River. They had prayed for a whole month to obtain Lord Krishna as their spouse by the grace of goddess Katyayani, a form of Durga. In 1929, at the same place, a saint named Keshvananda built a temple of goddess Katyayani to immortalise the site. This has also given every person in Vrindavan an opportunity to take advantage of the divine vibrations of Radhabag.
It is said that the ashtadhatu (eight elements) idol of the goddess was brought from Kolkata, and the idol of Ganesha was brought from the UK after a very mystic incident forced its ‘owner’ to immediately part with it.
There are mini shrines of Lord Shiva and other deities and saints in the temple complex. A temple maintains a cowshed and a vedic school with the help of its funds.
