If you like adventure, you will love a visit to Khuri, some 50 km from Jaisalmer. You can indulge in camel safari far into the dunes and desert camping. Generally, the guesthouses here can arrange these activities for you. Typically the tour starts around 3 pm so as to reach the dunes by sunset. You can take an individual camel or share it with your companion. The things required for the stay at night, like utensils, bedding, food and water, are loaded on camels. Approximately, a 2-hour journey takes you to the isolated sand dunes in the heart of the desert. A mesmerising sunset will welcome you. Spend night at the dunes, eat local food prepared on firewood and admire the stars in the sky. Waking up to the open sky, vast expanse of sand dunes and ringing bells of camels are things not to be missed during a visit to Khuri.
