A romantic day out on the beach – wear your party hat and flip flops as Manuel Antonio is just the place you would want to be on a Friday evening unwinding. You will see the most spectacular sunsets while being in the backyard of a national park. The bag packer's paradise is also gay friendly, and has well-respected nudist beaches. The liberal mindset is just the spirit you would need to carry with you on a Monday back to work. The restaurant scene is pretty huge with almost everything under the sky in a menu in some restaurant. Manuel Antonio comes to life as the evening begins. Friends, couples, lovers and families, solo travellers, writers, artists, business men and women, workers, all walking the beach, seeing surfers with their surf boards in tow, water scooters and rafters passing by the horizon. A word of caution though, there are plenty of small time gangs and thieves who prey on the carefree beach goers who leave their belongings abandoned while taking a dip. In fact, cars have been broken in if there is a mobile or laptop in sight. Best advice is to keep all valuables back in your hotel, locked, or you could take turns to guard your belongings always. Having said that, Manuel Antonio often makes it to many travel portals and travel websites' top beaches to visit in the world. Undeniably it has much to offer and if you are in Costa Rica for long, you will want to go here more than once.
