Buton Island has long been overlooked, but that is changing now. At a recent Indonesian travel blogging event in Jakarta, I learned that Buton is to be promoted as a new “undiscovered” cultural destination.Buton Island is a nature lover’s paradise, as most of it is undeveloped and there are a few roads. Many locals still live in traditional houses. Everything is as picturesque as imagined. Plus, from rainforests to beaches to pearl farms, there are a lot of sights and activities to keep visitors entertained. However, Nirwana Beach is one of the most impressive.
Sparkling white sands. Crystal blue waters. Welcome to Nirwana Beach, as perfect as a scene out of some movie. Relax on the shore or take a dip in the water and frolic in the waves. Scuba diving is also being developed here; so, now is the time to visit before others learn of Buton!
