Who would have thought that an Italian fishing village could entice the biggest of names in the glamour industry and emerge as an answer to Cannes, which otherwise is every Frenchman’s pride? Portofino is a shining proof of the fact that one must not undermine rusticity. Portofino is a shining proof of the fact that one must not undermine rusticity. The harbours are lined with yachts, their pristine white masts standing conspicuously with all the pride in the world and the ubiquitous luxury hotels seem to belong to a different world altogether. This resort will leave your wallet a lot lighter than it was before, maybe even empty but considering the elegantly coiffured trees, the neatly aligned pastel buildings and the celebrities you will be rubbing shoulders with, how is cribbing even an option? There are indomitable palaces and mansions to explore and a few religious centres in order to feel humbled in. There really is a little bit of everything. Portofino is indeed magical.Getting there:
