Winter has finally settled in for the hill state of Uttarakhand, turning it all the more stunning. The state received this year’s heaviest snowfall, making tourists rejoice as well as get cautious at the same time. The Garhwal region of the state has been seeing continuous snowfall since Wednesday night, and it is expected to continue for a day more.
Uttarkashi is another region that is blanketed with snow; so much so that its District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan has ordered all educational institutions to stay shut on Friday.
On the better side, especially for the travellers, Auli too is covered by snow. A steady throng of skiing enthusiasts has already started reaching Auli, as it is perhaps the most popular skiing destination in India. Other popular destinations, including Dhanaulti, Nainital, Munsiyari, Binsar, are also set to welcome the winter rush of tourists. Nainital had its first share of snowfall on Friday, attracting tourists from around the country, especially from Delhi-NCR region.
