Sunset Beach

Right at the end of the Brunswick Island Chain, you have the Sunset Beach. While geography wise, it may not come on top of the list, it certainly tops the list in terms of providing a retro, calm and serene beach vacation.
From this beach, you can also go for a walk towards the Bird Island. For up to a mile, you would see beach houses and untouched shorelines with the dunes between you and surf and marsh.

At the nearby Ingram Planetarium, you can discover moon, sun, and stars. Due to the island’s unique positioning, you can also see sunset and sunrise on the water, for several months of the year. What does it mean? It means you can sit on the Sunset Beach and watch sunrise and sunset from the same position without moving your beach chair. This phenomenon begins in late fall, which gives you even more reason to catch this sight in the off-season.
This phenomenon is not visible in summer, so if you happen to go there in winter, take the sunset/sunrise challenge. Get up early in the morning and see the vibrant colors of the sun. Then from the same position, you can catch the last of the glamorous rays of the sun, bidding you farewell.
