Domlur has been a popular place that existed as part of old Bangalore localities. It has many temples and attractions to see apart from its proximity to many of the recent IT parks and commercial attractions. It was indeed, the most sought after locality until the Bangalore Airport moved from the Old Airport to the current Devanahalli (KIAL) area. The Suryanarayana Temple in this lively location is something that we shouldn’t miss mentioning and visiting too. It is one of the few temples in India dedicated to the Sun god. Again, the architecture exemplifies the Cholan style with its carvings and sculptures. The idol of the deity is brought here from Badrinath and worshipped everyday with special poojas. The temple sees huge crowd on most public holidays and on popular Hindu festivals, especially on the day of Ratha Saptami (a day marked for the Sun’s northerly movement). The temple is hygienic and well maintained, giving us enough reasons to make a definite visit. Do visit this temple on the Ratha Saptami day to witness a huge annual fair. A huge chariot is pulled by several people in the honour of the almighty. It is a colourful sight to witness.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
