For tourists, who are already in destinations like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, or are planning to visit these places, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has recently sounded a cyclone alert to ensure safety.
As per an IMD bulletin, the cyclone might turn into a cyclonic storm within the coming 24 hours. Furthermore, it is likely that the cyclone would move in the northern coasts in Tamil Nadu and in the southern coasts of Andhra Pradesh.
The IMD report goes on to say that due to the effect of the approaching cyclone, the aforementioned destinations will witness heavy rainfall on November 14. Rainfall is also expected in distant regions in Kerala on November 15. The department is hopeful that the effects of the cyclone will start waning by then.
On October 11 this year, Cyclone Titli caused much devastation in Odisha, and led to a death toll of 60.
