The Pavillion is something of a rare beast in Dubai. A non-profit—yes, you heard right—art space that furnishes Emirates residents with a place to discuss and see artworks by local and international artists.
While away some time at one of the two galleries with regularly changing and frequently challenging exhibitions, and then head to the shisha café or espresso bar to discuss what you've seen. Or, if you're looking for evening amusement, check out their programme of indie and cult films screened in the small cinema here or one of the live gigs in the lounge, and then follow it up with dinner at the excellent and highly-acclaimed restaurant.

They also host interesting workshops, such as the Saturday night writing class; creating an open space for aspiring writers of every standard, you can either scribble away in solitary or try out some of the writing exercises they set.
